WHO WE ARE

Rob and Rosemary Nelson

Rob and his wife Rosemary have been involved in ministry to children and families for over thirty years. For 19 years they operated a long-term residential home for children and youth for Winshape Homes. WinShape Homes is the realization of a vision given to Truett Cathy, founder of Chick-fil-A, Inc., to serve hurting and broken children. The Nelson’s have worked with over 40 children during this period. They have been directly involved with most of their families and have witnessed firsthand the generational cycles of “broken children and grown up pain”. They have graduated 12 children from high school and are now active parents and grandparents to them, their spouses (8), their children (30 and counting), and continue to be family to eight other foster placements from recent years. As this lifelong ministry continues, Rob and Rosemary followed God’s call to expand into a new season of ministry in 2008.

In carrying forward their passion to minister to children, youth and their families, they established GracePointe Ministries in January 2009 with a vision for greater impact in this new season. This ministry was established in seeking to maximize the delivery of healthy ministry resources available to “at-risk” children, youth and their families. The mission is two-fold wherein direct services are provided along with resources available through the development of strategic partnerships and a cultivated network of ministry collaboration. These services include Biblical counseling and discipleship, consultation, resource and referral, and the provision of literature and teaching materials. Support groups, conferences, workshops and seminars are also being initiated and facilitated to support the work of local churches and other ministries as the Body of Christ. The key emphasis for GracePointe is to provide support services to those on the front lines of ministry. After 30 plus years in the field, God has given Rob and Rosemary a great passion to contribute to the health and unity of those called to minister. They believe it is through healthy ministers and ministry resources working together as one body that generations can be greatly impacted for Christ. It is the Nelson’s heart to come along side and offer opportunities for support, rest, and renewal to enable the faithful to continue in their God-given mission. Lastly, GracePointe continues to develop partnerships for the establishment of safe and nurturing ministry environments for camping, retreat, and residential care where youth, families, and those who serve them can experience life changing resolution, reconciliation, and renewal found in the love of Jesus Christ.
